The Department of Law, Central University of Punjab, under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, successfully organised its three-day Law Fest, Nyay Nityam 2.0, from 14th to 16th November 2025. Held under the theme “Let the Justice Prevail,” the fest aimed to promote legal awareness, academic engagement, and student participation in co-curricular activities. The event brought together over 350 participants, including school and college students, legal experts, faculty members, judges, and academicians from reputed institutions across the country.
The fest commenced with a formal Inaugural Ceremony on 14th November, 2025. The distinguished guests on this occasion, Shri Karunesh Kumar, District and Sessions Judge of Bathinda, and Ms. Baljinder Kaur Mann, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), addressed the gathering with insightful words on justice and legal education. Vice Chancellor Prof. R. P. Tiwari also motivated students with his inspiring address. The ceremony featured welcoming remarks by Dr. Puneet Pathak (Head, Dept. of Law), an introductory address by Dr. Sukhwinder Kaur, and concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Veer Mayank.
Following the ceremony, several competitions, including Quiz, Client Counselling, Debate (School-level), and Contract Drafting, were organized, allowing participants to demonstrate their legal acumen and reasoning skills. This made the opening day academically rich and impactful.
The second day of the fest (15th November, 2025) was marked by enthusiastic participation in events such as Crime Scene Investigation, Youth Parliament (Lok Sabha), Mediation, and the College-level Debate Competition. The high number of participants reflected the excitement and competitive spirit among students, who actively engaged in role-play, critical analysis, and deliberation-based activities.
The concluding day (16th November, 2025) featured two additional events—'Mastery Chase’ and ‘AI vs Human’—where students showcased creativity, innovative thinking, and a competitive mindset. The final round of the Mediation Competition and two sessions of the Youth Parliament (Lok Sabha) were also conducted, bringing the three-day academic celebration to a vibrant finish.
Participants represented reputed institutions such as the University of Delhi, Central University of South Bihar, Himachal Pradesh National Law University (Shimla), National Law University Meghalaya, CHRIST University Pune Lavasa Campus, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Lovely Professional University, Guru Nanak Dev University, Baba Farid Law College, Bathinda College of Law, GHG Institute of Law, and many others.
During the Valedictory Ceremony, Dr. Sukhwinder Kaur, Faculty Convenor of Nyay Nityam 2.0, presented a detailed report. Dr. Puneet Pathak expressed gratitude to the participants and highlighted the academic significance of the fest, along with the high level of competitiveness demonstrated across all events. At the end, Dr Veer Mayank, faculty co-convener, delivered the vote of thanks.
Nyay Nityam 2.0 successfully enriched legal learning through interactive and skill-based activities, enhancing students’ confidence, communication, teamwork, and research abilities. The collective efforts of faculty coordinators, student volunteers, judges, and participants made the Law Fest 2025 a resounding success, offering students an excellent platform to learn, compete, and excel.
